Autodesk® Design Academy is a comprehensive software solution that helps educators inspire secondary school students to pursue rewarding careers in architecture, engineering, and digital arts. This suite offers Autodesk’s widely used 2D and 3D design and engineering software. It provides access to highly engaging, project-based online curricula, which help advance students' knowledge in key areas ranging from math and science to design basics, pre-architecture, pre-engineering, robotics, and sustainable design. With the software’s design, visualization, and simulation capabilities, students can easily move between 2D and 3D design environments, and fully experience their creative ideas digitally.

  • Help enable students to move between 2D and 3D design environments, and offer design, visualization, and simulation capabilities, so they can fully experience their ideas digitally.
  • Help students to see the dynamic connection between science, math, and technology, preparing them for college and careers in architecture, engineering, and design.
  • Reinforce students’ academic and career readiness, with project-based curricula that:
    • Encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving
    • Supports academic achievement in math and science through design
    • Aligns to high-demand career paths in engineering, design, and architecture
    • Explores the effect design has on the environment through sustainable design
  • Curriculum maps to national standards of learning:
    • International Technology Education Association (ITEA) Standards for Technological Literacy
    • National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards for School Mathematics
    • National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Language Arts Standards
    • National Council for Science Education Standards Assessment (NCSESA) Science Content Standards
  • Access the Student Engineering and Design Community, an online resource that provides students and faculty with free* downloadable software (for home personal learning use), curricula, learning resources, and discussion forums. For more information, visit autodesk.com/edcommunity.

Design Basics Curriculum, providing students with foundational design knowledge, from 2D to 3D sketching and visualization to quick start tutorials on Autodesk software.

Pre-Architecture Curriculum, illustrating the architectural design process through real-life projects in which students can create components such as walls and doors, apply architectural standards, and design and visualize architectural renderings.

Pre-Engineering Curriculum, supporting building knowledge of the mechanical engineering design process through 3D parametric assembly modeling, analysis, and testing, as well as the civil engineering process through surveying, design, analysis, and documentation.

Robotics Curriculum, a fun, interactive way to learn the engineering process that connects the classroom to the real world.

Science and Math Curriculum, helping students make the connection with technology using math and science principles to solve problems.

Sustainable Design Curriculum, inspiring students to understand the effect that design has on the environment through the use of alternative building materials, energy resources, and water usage practices in the design process.
