CAT-5
Structured Cabling
The SC2500 is a new computer collaboration platform, which
combines highly-reliable hardware-based distributed switching
technology
with a modern CAT-5 structured cabling infrastructure to support
real-time
sharing of information – including multimedia information – among
computer workstations.
SC2500 provides a solid foundation for sharing computer screens,
computer audio, computer keyboard/mouse control, camera video (for
distance learning), telephone audio (for call centers). The system
also supports an internal full-duplex audio intercom capability,
and student/agent call buttons.
There are no system hardware or software components that need
to be installed in user computer stations, so the system is compatible
with virtually any hardware platform, any operating system, any
software application, any telephone system and any network environment – and
all audio/visual traffic is routed over a dedicated CAT-5 structured
cabling infrastructure, so that there is absolutely no load to
slow down your data network.
CAT-5 structured cabling facilitates easy installation and reconfiguration,
and compatibility with standard premise wiring and conduit.
Key to SC2500’s power and versatility is its modularity
and backward compatibility with previous SC2000 system modules.
The Plug & Play system can be expanded incrementally as installations
grow in size, and the system can be configured to meet individual
client needs through a wide range of system options and accessories.
